What is custom photography?
Custom Photography is more than just a snap shot or quick posed photo, it is creating personalized portrait art. A boutique style photography, which offers a range of products and unparalleled service. It is about giving the client choices and experience with one on one attention, without worry of who is next ‘in line’ or the feeling of a crowded portrait studio. Custom photography truly is not for everyone, it requires a commitment, investment in time and money.
How can I help make the best of my custom photography experience?
One thing I suggest is that no more than the people needed for the photo shoot to show up at the location of the session. The more people the more distractions, especially for children. It can become more stressful on everyone. So if you scheduled a session for one child I suggest you find someone to stay home with the other children if you have more then the one. Please show up on time. This will help keep things flowing and more relaxed so there isn’t any pressure to get things done in a timely manner.
What is your style?
I do natural light on-location creative portrait and lifestyle photography. My style is classic with a dreamy and vintage feel. Capturing natural expressions and moments to cherish a life time.
Do you have a studio?
No, I do on-location photography only. You may choose the location of your preference be it at a park or the comfort of your home. Other wise let me know if you would like suggestions.
What should we wear?
Depending on the look you want, simple clothing choices are the best for creating timeless portraits and allowing to keep the focus on the subject(s). Your clothing choices are important, you want to be able to see more than just the outfit and it should enhance your look with keeping to your personal style. With families there is no need to match as you all have different styles and personalities that you want to be able to portray, however for a visually pleasing portrait you want to find outfits that are complimentary with one another. You are usually safe when keeping within the same shades of a color. Staying away from busy patterns and logos, you could also use shades of two complimentary colors then bring in a small amount of accent colors to create a more colorful pallet.
What are your hours of availability?
I am available on weekends during daylight hours in correspondence to time of the season. Minimal weeknights after 7 pm during the Spring and Summer seasons. Please keep in mind the best lighting for natural photography is within 2 hours after sunrise and before sunset when doing outdoor pictures. For indoor pictures the best lighting is during mid-day. Of course this doesn’t mean it is the only time to take pictures just the most flattering lighting of the day with natural light photography.
What is a release agreement? Is this required?
A release agreement is a permission form allowing C. Bayless Photography & Design to be able to use the photos from your session for marketing, print materials, sharing on facebook, blog or website portfolio.
