The Minnesota Project | August – Duluth, MN

This month was a fun adventure up to Duluth and the North Shore, with another fellow photographer and her family. If you follow the blog circle you probably already know the talented Jo Davis. I love taking up opportunities to meet up with other photographers and when Jo put it out there do a meet up with our families I was all for it! So we meet up in Duluth, stayed at a hotel and went out on adventures around town with our families.

We started at Spirit Mountain doing the alpine slides and scenic chair lifts. If you are into biking this is a great place to go, it was fun watching the bikers go down the hillside paths. Afterwards we headed over to Enger Park to check out a panoramic view of Duluth in the stone tower. We walked around in the Japanese peace garden and explored a few of the paths to check out more beautiful views of Duluth. Once we rested up and got settled in the hotel we went to Canal Park to eat and check out the well known lighthouse pier and aerial lift bridge which we walked across to the other side where the beach is so we could put our feet in the freezing cold Lake Superior and skip rocks.

The following day we took a drive up along the North Shore to visit Gooseberry Falls State Park to climb the rocks and splash in the water. Then we drove further up to Split Rock Lighthouse for more hiking and sightseeing. My kids enjoyed rock stacking the most along the shore line. For me the best part about this trip was experiencing one of my favorite childhood memories with my kids.

I think most people have done this trip but if you haven’t it is a must do when in Minnesota. We all had a great time and it was so much fun spending time and getting to know Jo Davis and her family. I hope we are able to do another fun meet up again.

Thanks for taking the time to read and look through my blog. Be sure to circle through all of the other Minnesota adventures, next up on the blog circle is Lori Dozier. If you have any suggestions of where I should go next please let me know, I love trying out new places!
